    BECOME An exhibition artist.

VECCA invites applications as an Exhibition Artist, which is in addition to annual membership and enables you to show your artwork salon-style in VECCA's gallery space (123 S. Main Street, Woodstock VA), in addition to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital and the VECCA-sponsored judged shows. The Exhibition Artist fee is $50 for two months. VECCA acquires a 25% commission from each sale.

In addition, Exhibition Artists are asked to volunteer a minimum of 6 hours per month as a gallery docent. Please remember VECCA is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization. [If an Exhibition Artist cannot volunteer, they can opt for an Exhibition Artist fee of $100, instead. The 25% commission from each sale still applies.]

Each artist is encouraged to choose a Demo Day to share their craft with the community or to offer an educational workshop to promote the creative arts. In addition to this educational outreach, artists can have extra work for sale on his or her Demo Day, with only a 25% commission to VECCA. Ideally, artists will be able to have a Demo Day every two months.

Please complete and submit this form to express your interest. You can complete your purchase online OR mail your payment to VECCA, P.O. Box 787, Woodstock VA 22664. A VECCA Board member will contact you to provide additional details. Thank you for your interest!

ARTIST-GALLERY EXHIBITION AGREEMENT DETAILS

VECCA is an all-volunteer non-profit educational organization which, as part of its structure, is engaged in exhibition, display, public distribution, and sale of artwork; and, therefore represents and assists Artists under the terms listed below.

An Artist is a current member of VECCA and willing to exhibit and sell rightfully created and owned 2D and/or 3D artwork listed in an Exhibition Inventory; and, therefore, the parties agree as follows:

Definition of Exhibition Artwork:

Only original artwork is accepted. Framed Photography and Digital Art will be considered original artwork. 2D work must be properly framed or museum wrapped with a wire hanging system. Giclees and prints will not be hung. Print bins owned by VECCA will accommodate no more than six (6) matted and/or shrink-wrapped prints per artist. No individual artist print bins will be allowed. 3D work must include a display form unless supplied by VECCA.

1. Responsibilities: VECCA Exhibition Artist agrees to pay $50 for the 2-month duration and to do sales (docent) work per selected exhibition duration (the hours are guidelines and are changed as needed due to membership levels and/or seasonal needs): One quarter requires a minimum of 6 hours per month. In lieu of docenting the minimum number of hours each month, the Artist may opt to pay $100 for the 2-month duration. Each artist is encouraged to take an active part in the representation, exhibition, and sale of their work as well as representing VECCA in good faith to the public.

2. Scope of Agency: VECCA reserves the right to exhibit, display, and sell exhibition artwork at 123 S Main Street, Woodstock VA 22664 and shall cover only artwork submitted by the Artist while this Agreement is in force. VECCA shall maintain documentation of all artwork exhibited.

3. Exhibition Inventory: Artist exhibits for the full term of this Agreement. Any modifications or additions shall be in writing and signed by both parties. Artist shall be limited to three (3) pieces of 2D artwork and a combination of six (6) prints (for VECCA print bins) or bundled collection of notecards, OR six (6) 3D pieces of artwork (depending on size - extra large 3D pieces will be limited to 3 and smaller items will be limited to twelve (12), at any time during the term of this Agreement. Because of limited floor space and to ensure the safety of the work and viewers, 3D pieces that sit on the floor or on pedestals will be accepted and displayed on a case by case basis. Hanging pieces shall be 'ready to hang' upon delivery with a wire hanger attachment. No other type of hanging system will be accepted. Artist agrees to replace any piece(s) sold during the term of this Agreement; thereby maintaining a consistent Exhibition Inventory as specified above and at the discretion of VECCA. VECCA will not accept artwork 'not for sale' or 'previously sold' under this Agreement. The Artist shall not exhibit or sell any artwork specifically exhibited with VECCA at any other location for the full term of this Agreement.

4. Duration and Termination: This Agreement shall commence upon the date of signing and shall continue in effect for two (2) months (NOV-DEC / JAN-FEB / MAR-APR / MAY-JUN / JUL-AUG / SEP-OCT, which corresponds with VECCA's fiscal year end) to the expiration date being the last day of the last month of the quarter in which this Agreement is made. Either party may terminate this Agreement by giving thirty (30) days written notice. Artwork must be changed out every two (2) months to facilitate sales. A new agreement is only required annually.

5. Exhibition Fee and Commissions: VECCA and Artist agree that the commission shall be 25% on all exhibited artwork along with a $50 per 2 months OR $100 per 2 months without docenting for the duration selected. The two (2) month Exhibition Artist Fee is due in whole at the time of Agreement. VECCA shall sell the exhibited artwork at the retail price specified by the Artist. VECCA will not adjust Artist's retail price for any reason.

6. Payment: VECCA shall pay the Artist all proceeds due to the Artist within ten (10) days of the last day of the month in which the piece of exhibited artwork was sold. Sale of artwork is defined as the negotiation for purchase of a work of art on exhibit and the exchange of consideration therefore.

7. Transportation of Artwork: The Artist shall be solely responsible for delivering the exhibited artwork to VECCA. Upon expiration or termination of the Agreement, Artist shall be solely responsible for picking up any unsold exhibited artwork.  The Artist shall be solely responsible for all arrangements and shipping expenses (including, but not limited to, packing and shipping charges, insurance costs, and other handling expenses) that may be necessary throughout the duration of this Agreement. Please note: VECCA will not store nor take responsibility for any boxes and/or packing materials used to deliver exhibited artwork. Those items must be unpacked and removed by the artist.

8. Records: VECCA shall maintain accurate records of exhibited artwork by each Artist. Records will include: (1) For each artwork sold: Title, Sale Price, VECCA Commission, and Money Paid to Artist; and (2) For each artwork unsold: Title and Selling Price. VECCA agrees that the Artist has the right to review Records of their exhibited artwork at the main office of VECCA at any time throughout the duration of this Agreement. VECCA agrees to provide to the Artist, if requested, a complete and final accounting at the expiration or termination of this Agreement. For one-of-a-kind artwork with a retail price of $500 or more, VECCA will furnish the name, mailing address, and telephone number or the client/collector who purchases the artwork, if the client/collector has agreed to share this information.

Artist reserves all title and copyrights to the artwork except as noted in writing to the contrary. VECCA shall take all steps necessary to ensure that the Artist's copyright in the exhibited artwork is protected under the Artist's name.

11. Promotion: VECCA agrees to display the exhibited artwork throughout the duration of this Agreement within the limits of its available space(s) and the commitments for other exhibits which it may have from time to time.
