ANN HEAP, Fabric Artist, Photographer, Writer / Ann Heap was born and raised in Washington, DC. She lived in Pittsburgh after graduation from Pitt in 1965 and later in northern New Jersey near Lake Hopatcong. She came to Fort Valley in 1986 and now lives with her dog Buddy in Mine Mountain, offering her work under the business name of Mountain Ridge Creations. Ann draws inspiration from the year-round beauty, as well as the culture of caring, that is so much a part of her beloved Fort Valley and the greater Shenandoah Valley. She is retired from Warren County Public Schools where she taught English, Journalism, and Photography.

SARAH KOHRS, Potter, Photographer, Poet / Sarah E N Kohrs is an artist and writer, with over 95 journal publications, including poetry most recently published in Kitchen Quarterly Review, Stoneboat Literary Journal, The Bluebird Word; photography in Months to Years, Reservoir Road Literary Journal, Wild Roof Journal. She is the 2022 Kingdoms in the Wild Poetry Award winner for her chapbook, Chameleon Sky, which will be published in 2023. Sarah has a VA teaching license endorsed in Latin and Visual Arts and homeschools, works in her pottery studio, volunteers with Northern Shenandoah Valley Master Gardeners Association, and more. SENK lives in Shenandoah Valley, kindling hope amidst asperity.

JAMES MEDLEY, Photographer / Jim Medley lives in Fort Valley with his wife, Susan, along with five horses, a dog, a cat, and chickens. They moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 2012 from New Jersey. Jim has been an avid amateur photographer for five decades. His interests are landscape photography, plant and animal life, and astrophotography.

KATHRYN ANNE TURNER, Artist / Kat Turner creates in many media, including Watercolors, Acrylics, Pastels, Ink, and Graphite. She enjoys copper tooling and Polish Folk Art. Her artwork ranges from playful to ethereal and incorporates her love of nature and imagination, which drives her to seek places where reality meets fantasy. Kathryn studied Studio Art at The University of Maryland’s Munich, Germany campus. Three years in Europe gave her opportunity to visit museums and attend lectures and seminars in Belgium, Austria, Italy, Spain, as well as Germany. Having raised and homeschooled four children, she now turns her full attention to her artwork and creative endeavors. Kat lives in Front Royal.
