Elaine Florimonte is a DMV-based painter whose work explores the ephemeral nature of place, memory and perception. Influenced by her love of drawing and trends in contemporary landscape painting, she uses commercially printed collage, line and color to create expressive, layered compositions. VECCA and Shenandoah Memorial Hospital are providing an opportunity for artists to inspire and encourage the community. The artworks hang in the hallway leading to the Diagnostics Center of Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. Deadline to enter MAY 29.
We are grateful for the opportunity to have VECCA member artists exhibit their work at Theatre Shenandoah where patrons can view AND buy local art. Deadline to enter MAY 15.
Artists will be painting live in the front of VECCA Gallery, Tuesday to Thursday 10am-2pm. Please stop in and say hi, see what they are working on, and ask any questions you might have about their approach to art, or see what’s happening at VECCA lately. Current and future artists include Ann McCarty, Travis K Schuerman, Penelope Carrol, Marty Hoerr, Diana Schmidt, and Dan Miller.
Plein Air! All skill levels are welcome. And all kinds of artists welcome, Painters, Illustrators, Sculptors, Potters, Writers, Photographers… just bring yourself and your art materials to create whatever inspires you. Admire fellow artists process and just enjoy casually capturing the locations surroundings.
