VECCA Calls for Art
Our second community show theme of 2026 is “Constructed Worlds II: Art from Fantasy & Fiction”.
All work submitted must adhere to the theme of fantasy or fiction. Mythology, literature, illustration, dreams, sci-fi . . . imagine it and make it! We encourage work from visual artists, as well as writers, musicians, or any of the creative arts.
We have the rest of the themes mapped out. Finer details to follow, but take a look at all of the 2026 community themes to get a head start on ideas.

These Calls for Art were shared to us by members hoping to spread the word for calls for artworks that in areas somewhat outside the valley. VECCA does not have any affiliation with any of them, but we are happy to share extra opportunities with our members.
Visual Artists
This is open to visual artists, but unforunately due to the interior conditions of this old mill where the show happens, NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR FABRIC ART submissions as the humidity inside ruins those very rapidly.
Many VECCA members have submitted and sold at these previously, Dan Miller, Summer Kerr, and Ann McCarty. You can ask them about their experiences.

Art Event for Everyone
Stephens City’s first seasonal Art Festival will be held Saturday, September 27th from 12 noon to 5 pm featuring local artists! All art will be for sale, so mark your calendars!
For Visual Artists
Deadline for Submissions Oct.1
Stone Branch Center for the Arts invites artists to submit work for their annual 10 x 10 show. Each artist may submit up to 5 works of art. Each artwork should measure no more than 10″ x 10,” including frame or cradle, if there is one.
