VECCA Writers
Overview
A network of local writers, whether actively publishing or just savoring the art of writing, VECCA Writers meets every Fourth Sunday at 123 S Main Street, Woodstock, VA 22664. VECCA Writers is:
- a place to ask questions and learn more about your genre; kind of like FAQs and how-to’s
- a safe space to share your writing for encouragement and positive constructive criticism
- a chance to learn about workshops, writing events, publishing opportunities, and more
- goal setting with a community of writers’ support
- an opportunity to help select the recipient of the Creative Writing & Journalism Scholarship for graduating seniors attending a Shenandoah County public, private, or home school
- an impact on the community in unique ways through special events and projects, such as the VECCA-sponsored Eagle Scout project that established five Little Free Libraries in Shenandoah County in late 2023 or the Word Art Series, a night featuring a writer followed by open mic for poetry and flash-fiction reading.
VECCA Writers is for poets, journalists, memoirists, non-fiction & fiction writers, bloggers, wanna be bloggers, screen writers, and more. We are people who love writing and want to encourage other writers, as well as be encouraged. We are published authors and non-publishing authors. We are VECCA members and non-members. For more information, email VECCArts@gmail.com.
