VECCA Community Show

Call for Art Now Open.

Go outside, touch grass! Rummage through the attic and garage!  This show will feature art that has some sort of scavenged element: art that incorporates found or nontraditional materials as a part of the overall piece.

Participants must complete the form can drop off their artwork on FRIDAY, APRIL 26 to VECCA, 123 S. Main Street, Woodstock VA before 2 p.m.

All work submitted must adhere to the theme of scavenged materials or found art! We encourage work from visual artists, as well as writers, musicians, or any of the creative arts.
If you have artwork larger than 24×24 inches, please let us know ahead of time. We don’t want to turn away any epic pieces, but just need to account for space.
 
ALL ARTWORK MUST ARRIVE AT THE GALLERY READY TO HANG OR DISPLAY. Details below.

Artwork Rules/Restrictions

All work submitted must adhere to the theme of scavenged materials or found art! Go outside, touch grass! Rummage through the attic and garage!  This show will feature art that has some sort of scavenged element: art that incorporates found or nontraditional materials as a part of the overall piece. Any 2- or 3-dimensional medium is acceptable; however it must be no larger than 24″ x 24″ or a total area of 576″ (or comparable volume) in overall size. If you have artwork larger than that please let us know ahead of time. We don’t want to turn away any epic pieces, but just need to account for space. Traditional, abstract, and any other form of art is encouraged – however, since VECCA-sponsored shows are open to the public of all ages, artwork images must be family-friendly. 

Entry Fee

$5 per entry. Up to 4 entries accepted per artist. Payable to VECCA in-person at the gallery. Or pay online below, click here to jump to the entry fee.

If you pay online please print a copy of your receipt and bring it with you when you drop off your art.

Please note:

  • VECCA Members get two free entries
  • VECCA Gallery exhibition artists get another two free entries.
  • All students get 2 free entries
  • Student VECCA members get another two free entries.
Reception

MAY 9th, 1:00 – 3:00pm. All artists are encouraged to be present at the event so that VECCA and the community can celebrate this opportunity with you and your friends and family. 

Art Pick Up

Sunday, JUNE, 12:00 – 3:00pm Email VECCArts@gmail.com for other arrangements. Artwork may only be removed with the permission of a VECCA coordinator. Every effort will be made to ensure that artwork is handled with care; however, VECCA cannot be held responsible for loss or damage.

Requirements

VECCA membership is not required. All work submitted must be original. Artists must own the copyright of their work. Work must be labeled on the back with Artist, Title, Media, and Price. All work must be framed or with a finished look (e.g. clean sides, if an unframed canvas), as well as wired to hang (NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS). VECCA reserves the right to refuse any artwork deemed inappropriate for any reason listed herein.

Commision

A 30% commission will be collected on all artwork sold. VECCA will use this for continuing its mission for connecting the community with the creative arts. VECCA is run completely by volunteers. Sales will be totaled monthly and checks mailed by the middle of the following month.
